Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.

So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.

And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.

He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.

And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.

　　王下 4 章 > 以利沙所施的神迹让我们看到神的慈爱与怜悯──　

　　4 章　本章记载了神藉着以利沙所行的四个神迹：供应穷苦的寡妇所需之金钱（ 4:1-7 ）；使孩子从死里复生（ 4:32-37 ）；解食物之毒（ 4:38-41 ）；以极少食物使一百人吃饱（ 4:42-44 ）。这些神迹显明神对忠心之人的慈爱与眷顾。　

　　读旧约的时候，人多注意神对悖逆的人所施的严厉审判，而忽略了神对爱祂、事奉祂之人的慈爱关怀。看到神亲自供应忠于祂的人，我们就能不偏不倚地看待祂向不肯悔改的人所施的严厉审判。　

　　王下 4:1> 在这个冷漠的社会里，我是怎样对待身边生活有困难的人的？　

　　4:1　旧约圣经记载容许穷人、欠债者出卖自己或儿女为奴，以偿还债务。神吩咐富人债主，不要在人极端穷困的时候占他们的便宜（参申 15:1-18 中对这种习俗的解释）。这个妇人的债主，没有按照神律法的精神而行；以利沙的慈爱行为，显明了神要我们不但遵守律法，更要超乎律法去怜悯人。　

　　王下 4:6> 在油源源不断地倒出和停止的背后，我看到了什么？　

　　4:6　穷寡妇和儿子向邻居借来空器皿，将自己瓶中的油倒入每个空器皿之中。那油可能是橄榄油，可炒菜、点灯、或者作燃料之用。所倒的油在空器皿都装满以后就止住了；他们借来的空瓶有多少，就表明他们的信心有多大。神丰富的供应，是照他们信心的大小和顺服的程度而降下的；不要因为缺少信心与顺服，就怀疑神的赐福。祂能做的大事远超过我们所求所想的（参弗 3:20 ）。　

　　王下 4:9> 书念妇人能服事以利沙，在于她敏锐的心；今天我对神职人员的需要，是否也……　

　　4:9　书念妇人看出以利沙是一位神人，所以给他预备房子，随时款待。她这样做纯粹出于爱心，和看见先知有所需要，一点也不是出于自私。她的善良很快就得到报答，远超过她梦寐以求的。你对路人或过客，尤其是传扬教导神之道的人，有如此敏锐的感应吗？你能给他们提供什么帮助？应当寻找方法向他们多施援手。

　　王下 4:32-36> 我有以利沙这种爱心吗？在我传福音时……　

　　4:32-36　以利沙的祷告以及他使孩子复生的方法，显示神亲自眷顾受创伤的。我们将神的信息传给别人，也必须真心真意地关怀他们，只有这样行，才能真正地传扬我们在天上的父神。

列王纪下第四章　　神赐下不同的恩惠（四 1 ～ 17 ）　

　　在信仰的经历中，人人都会得神所赐的福气，而各人所得的均不相同，这段经文使我们看到两名妇人分别藉以利沙得到她们的所需。　

　　．寡妇（ 1 ～ 17 ）。她本是一名先知门徒的妻子，这名门徒早死，又留下债项要妻子偿还。她在无计可施下只好求以利沙的帮助，其后她按以利沙吩咐去做，遂得到很多油，她继而按先知吩咐将油卖掉好还债。好一个“惟命是从”的妇人，多少人自作主张，多少人只知一半就以为得知全部，致神的工作往往到一半就停滞不前。无论何时，得悉神工作的计划而照去做的是成功的保证，盼望无一人以自己的意思取代神的心意。　

　　．书念妇（ 8 ～ 17 ）。书念是靠近北方的一个小城，那里的一名“富有的女人”不断全力支持以利沙的工作。她强留他（ 8 ）、盖楼、备置休息的家具（ 10 ）；以利沙慢慢亦接受她的供给（ 11 ）。供给的人没有所求，但受的人却心里不安，坚持要为她作些事。往往当我们越计较得失、越吝啬我们所拥有，不肯施出时，我们也越难经历神丰富的赐予。那妇人心中确无所求，因为她没有期望报答，因而不计较什么。　

　　我们有没有斤斤计较所作出的奉献呢？巴不得我们被请求接受回报，而非努力寻求答谢。　

　　身处不同环境的两个妇人，她们有不同的需要，但感谢神，因他全备的知识与能力，两人均得到她们的所需。你在神面前。曾经不吝报酬的甘心奉献吗？　

　　思想　你曾否经历过神所赐的恩惠？你曾经在心中否认别人蒙恩的经验，不以之为神所赐吗？　

　　神藉先知行神迹（四 18 ～ 44 ）　

　　上段经文我们思想过书念妇人的经历，由于接待先知的原故她得盼望已久的儿子。但接续下来的经文，却让她更深地经历死而复得的喜乐。　

　　书念妇于孩子突然暴毙后，第一件事就是往寻以利沙，因为她肯定以利沙有来自神的权柄与力量，故此当先知只将手杖给她带去时她坚持说：“我必不离开你。”（ 30b ）以利沙先差基哈西前往，可惜孩子仍没有醒过来。直到以利沙亲自去见孩子并伏在他身上为他祈祷，他才渐渐暖和过来。这明显表示能力并非来自先知的杖，乃来自祷告！以利沙在进行救治时的过程，与以利亚复苏撒勒法寡妇之子的方法相似（王上十七 19 ～ 23 ）。这可以解释为一种当时常用的方式，但我们必须谨记，惟耶和华是生命的赐予者，我们可曾在任何事上，将我们仰望的焦点集中在神的身上？人常会被形式、仪节所掩蔽，以为按程序而行，就会得到相应的结果；但神所要求的，却是我们在祂面前的实意诚心。　

　　以利沙在吉甲的遭遇，正好使人想到他并没有超然脱离俗世，他与世人一样要一同面对饥荒，也要吃那锅有毒的瓜汤；但他拥有别人缺乏的信心与能力，因此靠神他使各人得以饱足。以利沙确实得神灵的充满，致事事得知神的心意。　

　　今日神所求的，不是一、二名独具信心，可以为神作事的伟大人物；相反，神将圣灵赐给每一位属祂的人，使他们可以靠灵行事，与神直接相交，甚或施行神迹。为什么今日的人未能有以利沙对神完全的经历？为何常仍在困难当中疑惑？为何不能直接与神建立美好的关系？神并非偏待人，乃是人没有善用神所赐给信徒的权利吧了！

列王纪下第四章　　各种有力的奇事（四 1-44 ）　

　　（一）　

　　我们在这一章里找到以利沙故事与以利亚故事相类似的进一步例子。有关以利沙记述中的神迹较在以利亚故事中更多。这类神迹都是宗教故事中常见的部分。笔者已经提及神迹的部分目的是增加以利沙的重要性，为他要求类似以利亚所拥有的地位。许多读者可能与我有同感，认为要求越多，受到的注意就越少，以利亚继续在两者间成为较重要的人物。但也可能是他过于冷漠了，不肯妥协，故不能取悦大众。　

　　两组故事之间的另一方面关系，值得探讨一下。只要有关以利沙的传统重复及采纳了以利亚传统的成分，对我们也会有所提示，知道怎样读法与怎样了解。我们留意到处理这些成分时其中有好几部分容易成为神迹性的资料，虽然它们并不作此要求。但是，以利亚的行动显得较不明确，而以利沙的行动则显然属于施行神迹的做法。这一点对我们回顾以利亚的故事时产生了影响，即是当我们因这些故事感到困惑时，我们自然也受到随之而来更详细更清楚的故事所导引；但可能这指引是错误的。　

　　第四章的第一个故事是个合适的例子（ 1-7 节）。它令我们想起以利亚对撒勒法寡妇保证瓶内的食物与油必不短缺，直到雨降在地上的日子（王上十七 8-16 ）。这里也提到一个有两个儿子需要供养的寡妇，债主且威胁要取去两个儿子做奴隶，另外还补充说这个家庭已故的父亲是位敬畏上帝的先知。以利沙不像以利亚那样向耶和华的名祈求，而是藉施行神迹解救她的困境，教她用所得的油还债，且让她继续有所进益。　

　　（二）　

　　本章结尾的两段插曲（ 38-41 ， 42-44 ）中之一，有关撒面解毒的事令我们想起二章十九至廿二节以利沙治清耶利哥水源的记载。两者都可能反映一种超自然的逸事，是所谓‘科学勃兴之前’的社会中专为祭司与先见保留的一个领域。但是我们留意到上面所谈的一切，知道有关以利沙的奇能并不仅是进一步的逸谈那么简单。二章廿一节提及上帝，是以他做为以利沙处事能力的来源，而不是以利沙所屈服的背后权威。四章卅八至四十一节并没有提及上帝，只提‘神人’（ 40 节）。　

　　为先知预备大锅的故事，很自然的将以利沙用所献的初熟大麦做饼给大队人吃的事带进来。令人惊奇的是以利沙竟接受了这种奉献，因为初果归于上帝，是要尽快拿来交给祭司的。但是对于熟悉福音书的人更有趣的一点，是这简短故事与耶稣用更少的食物喂饱更大人的故事之间的类同。两个故事都提及众人吃饱了还有剩余。　

　　（三）　

　　这冗长的一篇较广泛的中间部分，令我们想起与以利亚之间的比较──这一次是他与撒勒法寡妇交往的第二段插曲（王上十七 17-24 ）。我们现在再一次读到关于妇人盛情的记载，也再一次看到她因儿子死了而怪责神人的事。同样地，这孩子也是在神人伏在他身上之后得以康复的。　

　　但其中的差异也是饶有趣味的。这一次谈的不是异族穷寡妇，而是书念的有钱妇人（ 8 节）。这一点有利于强调以利沙是一个到处受欢迎的人物。他在任何社会阶层里都无所拘束。他并不是特别与那些在社会中被压迫及不幸者认同，也不打起宗教运动的旗帜。他不仅接纳盛情款待，甚且为了这盛情表示愿意为对方向王或元帅作任何请求（ 13 节），至于他是认真抑或语带讥讽就不得而知了。书念妇人对这一点的回答是‘我住在自己的人当中’，是乡村式的自主说法，得体又简洁。　

　　基哈西可能从仆人的闲聊中知道女主人没有儿子，且不大可能会有儿子，这是以利沙并没有从较含蓄的宾主谈话中猜测到的。她对以利沙的应许所说的话（ 16 节）令我们想起当听闻同类上帝的宣布时，撒拉心里暗笑的事（创十八 10-15 ），还有撒迦利亚的不相信（路一 18-20 ）。我们绝对同情她对于儿子罹病及终于死亡感到愤怒，认为没有儿子倒比有了一段短时间又丧失了好些。‘我何尝向我主求过儿子？’（ 28 节）这句清楚简洁的话再一次将这意思表达了。　

　　以利沙除了沉吟一会后，他的反应是即时的，但他认为由基哈西去处理这次危机已足够。但是面对这位母亲的倔强态度，他迫得要用较为积极的态度表示顺从──基哈西和主人的手杖不收效，证明她所坚持的是正确的。这故事的末了部分尤其与列王纪上十七章的结尾部分相似，只是在治病技巧的描述较为详细罢了。直至女主人的儿子复苏了，她的态度也完全改变，一向言词简洁的她哑口无声的在以利沙脚前俯伏于地，满心感激。──《每日研经丛书》

4：1 本章至6：7记先知以利沙所行的一连串神迹，让我们看见神怎样看顾敬畏祂的人。人因不信陷在罪恶中，遭受疾病、痛苦和死亡。神愿意人人健康、幸福，甚至予死了的人生命；灾祸乃人自己招来。人若肯悔罪，回转仰望神，不问是以色列人或非以色列人，都可脱祸得福。施行拯救、医好疾病的不是以利沙，也不是他的杖，而是神自己。

这三章一共讲了六个神迹：1，供应油给先知门徒遗下的寡妇（4：1-7）；2，书念妇人晚年所得儿子死而复苏（4：8-37）；3，消除汤中致死的毒，先知门徒得以疗饥（4：38-41）；4，二十个饼吃饱一百个人还有剩余（4：42-44）；5，医好亚兰王的元帅乃缦的大痲疯（5：1-27）；6，沉斧浮出水面（6：1-7）。

“先知门徒”：看2：3注。过集体生活的先知门徒可以娶妻。门徒的遗孀负债难偿，依摩西律法可以卖身为奴（卖妻卖子都可以），清偿债项（出21：7；利25：39-41；申15：1-11）。不过，希伯来人不可以同胞为奴（利25：39），而且到了“禧年”或服侍满了六年，必须给予自由（利25：40-41；申15：12-14）。

4：2-7 神顾惜敬畏祂的人（“他敬畏耶和华是你所知道的”），供应装不完的油来帮助寡妇还债，剩下的还足供一家生活（7节）。这妇人所以能得到神丰富的恩典是她顺服且有信心（5节；林后12：9）。

4：8 书念在北方的以萨迦（书19：18），位于摩利山西南麓，介乎耶斯列和他泊山之间。以利沙很可能是从迦密山来，经书念去他居住的亚伯米何拉（王上19：16）；也可能去他常访问的吉甲。

书念妇人环境相当富裕（10，13节），是北国以色列仍敬畏神的人。

4：12 圣经首次提到基哈西；他服侍以利沙，喜欢利用本身地位谋取小利（5：22-24），后来受罚，长了大痲疯（5：27）。

4：21 妇人的信心受考验。她相信神的话得来的儿子，现在突然死去。面对巨变，她没有哭，也没有怨尤，悄悄把儿子放在以利沙的床上，关上门，不让人家知道此事，连丈夫面前都不说（23节）；然后赶着驴去迦密山见神人。

4：23 从她丈夫的话中，可知当时要谒见象以利沙这种带有祭司职分的先知，都在敬拜的日子，例如每月初一、安息日和节期（参出16：23；20：9-11；利23：3；撒上20：5注）。

4：25 从书念去到海旁的迦密山，路程约为40公里。

4：26 妇人严守秘密，见到先知才把心事倾吐。她不明白何以神给了她的又要收回去。她的问题让我们想起约伯的话（伯1：21）。

4：29 以利沙叫仆人基哈西拿了他的杖立刻起程，在路上不可耽延，别问安也不要回答，尽快到达，免得妇人的丈夫发现孩子已死，拿去埋了。“杖”没有复苏的魔力（31节），只是要让人知道，以利沙和与他同在的神将参与其事。

4：35 以利沙见到孩子，第一件事是关上门，向赐生命的神祷告。他象以利亚一样伏在孩子身上，不断恒切祈求（王上17：21）。体力和精神的消耗一定很大（参路22：44），所以必须起来走一走，又再继续。

“喷嚏”是孩子已有呼吸，生命恢复的征象。

4：38 很可能就是8：1所说的七年的饥荒。“先知门徒”及“吉甲”：看2：3注。“坐在他面前”：指先知门生在以利沙面前受教。

4：42 这是北国敬畏神的人给先知的供奉，带来的是初熟的大麦作的饼、初熟的果子和五谷。这些本为献给祭司和利未人的食物（申18：1-6），可见这些先知的崇高地位，是耶和华真正的代表。
